Burnout and exhaustion are real. However, our work and jobs do not wait until our anxiety eases or the tiredness wears off. I’m a strong believer in work and life balance. Giving time to work, my family and most importantly to myself is key.

Investing in time to enjoy yourself, relax, travel or learn something new must not seem a luxury. I remember for me it began as simple as enjoying my morning cup of tea in silence a few years ago.

An interesting podcast by life coach Mel Robins pointed out taking the time to plan work but also creating the time to plan joy. This is so important because we take time to plan work on auto tune mode while we do not know how we can enjoy the time we are free.

Likewise, I plan my free time and how I choose to spend it whether it is to spend time doing something as a family or sharing some time reading or watching something I like, a holiday or meeting a friend to share a cup of coffee. This has helped me set the tone for a decent work-life balance.

So do give the same significance to plan and create joy as you give towards work!
