I have a passion of collecting different cookery books on various types of cuisine.
An interview given by Mrs Shantha Mayadunne’s daughter on Sirasa Tv on the late veteran chef was what motivated me to try her book.
I simply love ‘Shanthaagen Obata Rasa Bojun 3’ and I refer to it as one of the best and most practical cookery books I have ever owned.
Her tips are really something else. It just simplifies your time. Further, a thing I just adore about her recipes is that there is no MSG or soup cubes used in her cooking. She encourages the use of only natural ingredients which I am a strong advocate of.
Another factor that caught my interest about the book was that it covered an unusual range of salads, soups, drinks, starters plus desserts apart from the main dishes. She doesn’t overwhelm you with a quantity of recipes but focuses on the quality of it instead!
It is a must-have in every girl’s house! I encourage others to get it especially.for those who need to cook a delicious meal using minimal time and ingredients. I grabbed my copy from Sarasavi Bookshop Colombo. Kindly note that this is an independent and an unpaid review.
